July 2nd & 3rd, 2006
The BMF round up in MI Pro (Aug 2006) said:
STONEBRIDGE: One of the revelations of the BMF this year was the appearance in this country
of the Stonebridge Guitars..These guitars are not simply good players, they draw the
player in and refuse to let go. Possibly the best value on the market at the moment.
>J.P. Cormier Endorses Stonebridge Mandolins
July 2006

With the project in hand, he worked his way across the U.S. festival circuit - performing for anyone who might take notice. These appearances led to a move to the U.S., and 10 years of session work, live appearances, and many memorable nights at the Grand Ole Opry with such notable artists as Waylon Jennings, Marty Stuart, Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, Charlie Louvin, and Vince Gill. >Furch Instruments Celebrates 25th Anniversary!
July 2006
What a time it was! Frantisek Furch celebrated 25 years of building awesome sounding guitars & mandolins with a massive party. Distributors of Furch & Stonebridge were treated to a wonderful celebration along with a tour of the newly renovated factory. Also toured were nearby palaces and castles of European nobility from days gone by, and the beautiful wine region of Moravia. Prague was a must see, with the Charlesbridge or 'Stonebridge' being the 1st stop, (that is right after a stop at a local pub to have a few delicous Czech beers and see Franta Javùrek, of Amistar Resonators, perform). Frantisek Furch unveiled a master peice guitar, a 25SR-OM with serial #25,000, during the factory tour. This guitar was in a class of it's own. Not only did he use exotic woods (koa back and sides) but the sound was like heaven. The cedar top was aged using a new process by a Swiss company. After only few weeks of treatment the wood is basically aged to the equivelant of an 80 year old peice, leaving it's cells hollowed out, giving it a sound like no other. The wood is also unable to take on moisture. Look for a limited number of these anniversary signature models, as Furch & Stonebridge, coming in 2007. www.furch.cz
